The Hill ran a series of articles regarding family caregiving last Friday, July 14, discussing family caregivers' financial challenges and potential policy action that could better support them.

An article from the Alzheimer’s Association discusses the multiple challenges faced by caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s and points to the Recognize, Assist, Include, Support, and Engage (RAISE) Family Caregivers Act, which would require the development and implementation of a coordinated national strategy to recognize and support family caregivers. Both an AARP article and an article from the Family Caregiver Alliance urge the passage of the proposed Credit for Caring Act, which would provide caregivers with relief from the economic burdens of long-term care. The National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) article also urges Congress to develop policy solutions to preserve the country’s workforce of family caregivers.
