A Family Caregiving Capitol Hill Briefing organized by The Gerontological Society of America (GSA) is being held on November 7th. It will highlight caregiving stories, including those of congressional members, in an effort to raise awareness of the need for action to support and assist family caregivers.

The briefing is being supported by GSA and The John A. Hartford Foundation in partnership with AARP, the Alzheimer's Association, and the National Alliance for Caregiving. Speakers include:

  • Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham, ACT Causus
  • Patricia D'Antonio, The Gerontological Society of America
  • Rani Snyder, The John A. Hartford Foundation

This program will call attention to the challenges that family caregivers face, and the recommendations set forth in The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine's “Families Caring for an Aging America” report for building a national strategy to address these issues effectively.
