Online Resource for Comparing Evidence-Based Dementia Caregiving Programs

Grant Summary

This project will improve the lives of families caring for older adults with dementia by developing a web-based resource that helps health and social service organizations compare and select evidence-based caregiver support programs for implementation. The project aligns with recommendations from the Families Caring for an Aging America report from the National Academies, which notes that at least 8.5 million family caregivers are providing support to someone with dementia. The online resource will provide detailed information on approximately 50 evidence-based dementia caregiving programs to encourage community implementation. The project is a collaboration between the Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging and the Family Caregiver Alliance, which will host this tool as part of its national repository for resources on family caregiving.
