The recent release of Health Affairs December 2016 issue provides a comprehensive look at oral health. The collection of papers examine the topic from many angles however, a single theme stands out: the divide between dental care and medical care is vast, has significant consequences for patients, and is entirely of our own making.

The issue adresses oral health in a multitude of ways, in particular, the cost, use, and access to oral health. The theme issue includes two articles that fall under the Aging and Health Series, supported by The John A. Hartford Foundation.
