This is how Americans would like to die: Compared to Japan and Europe, the U.S. has a different approach to death and aging, including around discussions on end-of-life wishes with their doctor.

As the Dow Jones' MarketWatch article cites, U.S. doctors are being encouraged to discuss end-of-life issues with new reimbursement policies, however, "Just 14% of physicians have billed Medicare for an end-of-life conversation with a patient under the new advance-care planning program, which allows patients to plan ahead in the event they become incapacitated, according to a separate poll sponsored by The John A. Hartford Foundation, the California Health Care Foundation and Cambia Health Foundation."
