The John A. Hartford Foundation is excited to be recognized by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as a Healthy People 2030 Champion.

As a Healthy People 2030 Champion, JAHF has demonstrated a commitment to helping achieve the Healthy People 2030 vision of a society in which all people can achieve their full potential for health and well-being across the lifespan. Healthy People 2030 Champions are a growing network of organizations partnering with ODPHP to improve health and well-being at the local, state, and tribal level and are committed to working toward Healthy People's overarching goals and objectives in their communities or service areas.

In its fifth iteration, the Healthy People initiative sets 10-year national objectives to improve health and well-being nationwide, with the following overarching goals:

  • Attain healthy, thriving lives and well-being free of preventable disease, disability, injury, and premature death.
  • Eliminate health disparities, achieve health equity, and attain health literacy to improve the health and well-being of all.
  • Create social, physical, and economic environments that promote attaining the full potential for health and well-being for all.
  • Promote healthy development, healthy behaviors, and well-being across all life stages.
  • Engage leadership, key constituents, and the public across multiple sectors to take action and design policies that improve the health and well-being of all.
