The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) has launched a Virtual Expedition, "Becoming an Age-Friendly Health System," which starts on February 5, 2019.

IHI Virtual Expeditions are action-focused online training programs for teams. The upcoming training focuses on the Age-Friendly Health Systems initiative's "4Ms" -  which are the essential elements of high-quality care for older adults and, when implemented together, indicate a broad shift by health systems to focus on the needs of older adults.

At the end of the Expedition each participant will:

  • Understand the 4Ms and how they interact with each other
  • Test the 4Ms in your own care setting
  • Plan to scale-up the 4Ms in your system
