The Administration for Community Living (ACL) has released A Profile of Older Americans: 2017, an annual summary of the latest statistics on the older population. 

These annual statistics serve as a resource for professionals with an interest in the changing demographics of the population age 65 and over, and include 15 topical areas (such as population, income and poverty, living arrangements, education, health, and caregiving). Principal data sources are the U.S. Census Bureau, the National Center for Health Statistics, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. 

ACL, which includes the Administration on Aging, is an operating division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
