Healthcare Financial Management Magazine (HFM) has published an article by Allison Silvers et al. from The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) on "Minimizing Readmission Penalties with Palliative Care."
The paper discusses value-based care programs that factor cost and quality into payment calculations, in particular the Medicare Hospital Readmission Reduction Program (HRRP), which reduces Medicare payments to hospitals with excess 30-day readmissions.
