The Rhode Island Medical Journal has published a paper, "Shaping the Rhode Island Duals Demonstration: The Power of Partnerships between Advocates and Geriatrics Experts."

The paper examines the translatable success of the Center for Consumer Engagement in Health Innovation’s (the Center) Geriatrics Provider Collaboration program (funded by The John A. Hartford Foundation) which paired geriatrics experts with Rhode Island consumer advocates to promote person-centered care for the state’s Integrated Care Initiative – its demonstration for Medicare-Medicaid enrollees.

"Replicating partnerships between consumer advocates and providers, as done in the GPA [Geriatrics Provider Advocates] project, could be of enormous benefit as we work to engage consumer voices in shaping reform efforts and to create more age-friendly health systems for our older population."
