Jane Carmody, DNP, MBA, RN, program officer with The John A. Hartford Foundation, is quoted in a Healthcare Risk Management article, "Consent Process Often Executed Poorly, Creating Risks and Costs."

Dr. Carmody addresses the issue of obtaining consent for procedures with advance directives and making sure that a person's values, goals and preferences are documented.
