Inside Philanthropy has published an article, "The Foundation With a Laser Focus on Nursing and the Goal of Transforming Care on a Large Scale."

The article talks about the Rita & Alex Hillman Foundation's grant to the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing's Center for Innovative Care in Aging in support of CAPABLE (Community Aging in Place – Advancing Better for Living.) CAPABLE is designed as a model of care that keeps older adults functioning at higher levels in their own homes by providing support to enhance their capacity to live independently.

"Dr. Szanton has previously received funding from the National Institutes of Health, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, The John A. Hartford Foundation, and the AARP Foundation."
