More Beeson Scholars in the News

Several Beeson Scholars were featured in the news recently: Dr. Cary Gross of Yale University was featured in New York Times "Well" blog; Dr. Daniel Matlock of the University of Colorado was highlighted in the New York Times "New Old Age" blog; and Dr. Anne Louise Oaklander at Harvard writes for The Atlantic. The Beeson Scholars Program is administered by the American Federation for Aging Research in partnership with the National Institute on Aging and the John A. Hartford Foundation.

Several Beeson Scholars were featured in the news on March 29-30. Dr. Cary Gross of Yale University was featured in the New York Times "Well" blog for his research on overuse of screenings and excessive treatments with minimal benefit to cancer patients; Dr. Daniel Matlock of the University of Colorado and GeriPal blog contributor was highlighted in theNew York Times "New Old Age" blog on the sometime conflict between physicians around patient advanced directives and palliative care; and Dr. Anne Louise Oaklander at Harvard writes a poignant piece in The Atlantic about her 84-year old physician mother whose vitamin toxicity was unrecognized and attributed to aging.
