New York, NY (January 8, 2018)Mark Barreiro, MS, has joined The John A. Hartford Foundation as a new Senior Grants Officer, the Foundation announced today. Mr. Barreiro has more than two decades of experience in philanthropy and grants management. He will oversee the Foundation’s grantmaking processes and systems to ensure their efficiency and effectiveness.

Mr. Barreiro previously worked for ten years at the New York State Health Foundation, serving as Senior Grants and Operations Manager. He also has held positions at The J.M. Kaplan Fund and The Commonwealth Fund, in addition to MicroEdge, a technology provider for the philanthropic community.

“We are very fortunate to add a seasoned grants management professional to our team,” said Terry Fulmer, PhD, RN, FAAN, President of The John A. Hartford Foundation. “Mark will help us advance our mission to improve the care of older adults by making sure we have reliable and responsive grantmaking processes.”

Mr. Barreiro is a member of Peak Grantmaking, an association of grants management professionals. He obtained his Master of Science degree from Hunter College.
