Webinar Recording: HCCI Update - The Impact of COVID-19 on Home-Based Primary Care Providers, Practices, and Patients
The Home Centered Care Institute (HCCI) held a webinar on March 26, "HCCI Update: The Impact of COVID-19 on Home-Based Primary Care Providers, Practices, and Patients."
The new coronavirus (COVID-19) disease has brought home-based medical care, including telemedicine, to the forefront. House call programs of all sizes are struggling to meet patients’ needs when an in-person visit is not advised, and practice leaders are striving to remain viable and maximize reimbursement despite fewer visits being made.
The webinar:
- Shared updated information on the revised Medicare rules, particularly around telehealth reimbursement;
- Discussed various COVID-19 protocols being implemented by house call programs around the country; and
- Opened a dialogue among house call providers and professionals, fostering a sense of community around the significant impact the COVID-19 pandemic is having on house call programs nationwide.
