Today we feature the second installment of our Beyond the Boardroom video series. Here, Rachael Watman interviews Elizabeth Capezuti, PhD, RN, FAAN, the Dr. John W. Rowe Professor in Successful Aging at NYU College of Nursing and co-director of the Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing. In addition to these responsibilities, Capezuti is also a tireless champion of the NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Health System Elders) program. A multifaceted program that helps hospitals improve their care of geriatric patients, NICHE began in the early 1990s as a Hartford-funded pilot program at a few hospitals. After its success, it attracted funding from The Atlantic Philanthropies and eventually grew to encompass over 300 hospitals throughout North America.
