NIA IMPACT web

The National Institute on Aging (NIA) Imbedded Pragmatic AD/ADRD Clinical Trials (IMPACT) Collaboratory is soliciting letters of intent for several one-year pilots that have the potential to advance care for persons with Alzheimer’s disease or Alzheimer's-related dementia (AD/ADRD) and/or their caregivers in real-world settings.

The NIA IMPACT Collaboratory $150,000 awards aim to provide pilot funds to generate preliminary data necessary to design and conduct future full-scale embedded pragmatic clinical trials of non-pharmacologic interventions in health care systems for people living with AD/ADRD and/or their caregivers.

The mandatory letter of intent is due October 11, 2019. Two optional informational webinars will be held on September 26th and October 2nd to provide additional information and answer questions of potential applicants. Pilot studies must:
• Pilot test a non-pharmacological intervention targeting people living with AD/ADRD and/or their caregivers using a pragmatic trial design.
• Implement the intervention in two or more health care systems or sites within health care systems (e.g., ≥ 2 nursing homes, hospitals, healthcare provider practices).
• Be feasible within the one-year time frame.
