The Moving Forward Coalition Nursing Home Quality Coalition (Moving Forward) is holding a Coalition Conversation March 21 on "Nurturing Families (of All Types) in Nursing Home Communities."

Join two nursing home residents and one care partner to discuss how families are nurtured and sustained in nursing home communities. Speakers will share stories, experiences and insights that define their experience of nursing home family. They will also talk about challenges they've faced in nurturing their families, including the COVID-19 pandemic, and best practices nursing homes can implement to support diverse families.

Panelists include:

  • Carrie Leljedal, Illinois Caregivers for Compromise State Spokesperson and Family Advocate, Gray Panthers NYC Board member, and The Live Oak Project program manager.
  • Jeanette Sullivan-Martinez, member of the Statewide Coalition of Presidents of Residents Councils of the State of Connecticut Long Term Care Ombudsman Program, and President of the Residents Council of Pendleton Health and Rehabilitation Center since 2010.
  • Cindy Napolitan, nursing home resident living outside of Dallas, Texas, an advocate at the local, state and federal level, and an active participant in Consumer Voice’s Consumer Advisory Council.
