National Center to Reframe Aging Webinar Recording and Guide: Responding to Ageist Election Coverage in the Media

Reframe Aging Responding to Ageist Election Coverage in the Media

The National Center to Reframe Aging has released a new brief guide, "Responding to Ageist Election Coverage in the Media," and held a webinar February 20 on the subject of addressing ageism in election media coverage.

As the election cycle ramps up, there has been a groundswell of ageist media coverage focused on elected officials of both Democratic and Republican parties. The brief guide provides audiences with a tool to answer constructively to public displays of ageism. It also includes advice on two main ways these approaches can be made public — writing a letter to the editor or writing an op-ed piece.

During the webinar, speakers talked about reframing strategies to employ when responding to ageist election coverage and tips for writing effective opinion pieces.
