2021 American College of Surgeons Quality and Safety Conference

The American College of Surgeons (ACS) is holding their 2021 Quality and Safety Conference July 12-16. The virtual conference will feature several sessions about the Geriatric Surgery Verification (GSV) Program and other topics concerning surgical care for the older adult population.

Online registration is free and provides an open access pass to all sessions. The agenda includes several GSV-related sessions, including:

  • The Hospital Experience: Implementing the Geriatric Surgery Verification (GSV) Program: For this session, participating GSV hospitals will provide insight on their experiences with implementing the GSV Standards by sharing their challenges, successes, and quality improvement strategies.
  • Geriatric Surgery Verification (GSV) Program Standards Promote Value-Based Care: Speakers will address how improving surgical outcomes for older adults leads to improved value of surgical care in this complex and costly population.
  • The Refined Surgical Care for the Older Adult Patient: This session will demonstrate how the GSV Standards not only optimize patient care for the older adult, but also the patient experience from preop to beyond discharge.
