Cindy Lu, MPH

Program Associate

Cindy Lu is a program associate at The John A. Hartford Foundation, where she supports grantmaking, evaluation, research and program operations across the foundation’s initiatives to improve the care of older adults. In this role, she manages components of the grant proposal and evaluation process, conducts research and analysis to inform funding decisions, develops reports and board materials, and helps maintain the foundation’s grants management and data systems. She also works closely with consultants, grantees and external partners to support program implementation and evaluation efforts.

Prior to joining the foundation, Cindy gained experience in public health research, health care strategy and program evaluation through internships and projects with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the Applied Global Public Health Initiative at New York University and other community-based health organizations. Her work has focused on health equity, population health and improving access to services for underserved communities. She has led and supported qualitative and quantitative research projects, stakeholder engagement efforts and data-driven analyses that informed program and policy decision-making.

Cindy earned an MPH from New York University. She also holds dual BS degrees in chemistry and global public health, with a minor in physics, from NYU.
