The Catholic Health Association of the United States (CHA) has released a Health Progress article, "Achieving Age-Friendly Care for Older Adults With the NICHE Program."

The article talks about the Age-Friendly Health Systems (AFHS) initiative and notes that, "Ensuring that nurses are well prepared to recognize and meet the unique needs of older adults is a critical step in any organization's process of becoming age-friendly."

Author Jennifer Pettis, MS, RN, describes the Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystems Elders (NICHE) program. The article includes a detailed table aligning NICHE resources with AFHS principles organized by the AFHS's 4Ms framework and the NICHE practice model's four major levers, and an explanation of these main components.
