CHCS and Better Care Playbook Webinar Recording: Caring for Older Adults with Complex Needs in the COVID-19 Pandemic - Lessons from PACE Innovations
The Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS) and the Better Care Playbook held a webinar on June 30, "Caring for Older Adults with Complex Needs in the COVID-19 Pandemic: Lessons from PACE Innovations."
The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) is an evidence-based care model for older adults who meet a nursing-home level of care but live in community settings. The webinar focused on innovative strategies PACE organizations have employed to care for participants and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic and highlighted in particular those innovations related to providing care for older adults with complex needs.
Lessons shared were broadly applicable to organizations serving vulnerable older adults in other settings during the pandemic as well, particularly through integrated health plan approaches. In addition, speakers reviewed state policy considerations to address the long-term needs of older adults requiring a nursing home level of care in the context of COVID-19.
