CMSS and UCSF Award Planning Grants to Seven Specialty Societies Seeking to Improve Diagnostic Feedback in Clinical Registries 1

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in partnership with the Council of Medical Specialty Societies (CMSS) has awarded grants to seven specialty societies to improve diagnostic feedback in clinical registries. The American College of Surgeons received an award co-funded by JAHF to focus on improving diagnosis for emergency general surgery older adult patients.

CMSS is a coalition of more than 50 specialty societies representing more than 800,000 physicians across healthcare. This second round of awards funds societies for 12 months to develop plans for scalable demonstration projects of diagnostic performance feedback that is impactful for their specialties.

The grant program is administered by CMSS and funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. JAHF is supporting one of the selected awardee projects that focuses on older adults:
