Ha Hfamilycaregiverswebinar2 20

Hospital at Home Users Group, in partnership with the American Academy of Home Care Medicine, held a webinar February 20 on, "Family First: Prioritizing Caregivers in Hospital at Home."

In both traditional hospital and in-home acute care, family caregivers may be key members of the patients’ care team. The Hospital at Home (HaH) movement has produced promising research on strategies to facilitate the best outcomes and experiences possible for all patients, both those with family caregivers and those without.

The webinar explored the implications of the HaH model from the perspective of caregivers, clinicians, researchers and advocates and highlighted what we are learning from the science as well as new tools and approaches that improve the experience of family caregivers.

Speakers included:

  • Rita B. Choula, Senior Director, Caregiving, AARP Public Policy Institute
  • Brittni Howard, MA; PhD Candidate, Research Assistant – HaH and Caregiving Project, Geriatrics and Palliative Care, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
