Lown Institute Action Plan and Issue Briefs: Eliminating Medication Overload - A National Action Plan
Lown Institute has released an action plan and accompanying issue briefs about medications and older adults, "Eliminating Medication Overload: A National Action Plan."
The action plan follows the earlier April 2019 report, "Medication Overload: America’s Other Drug Problem," which laid out the scope of medication-related harm. The new plan offers recommendations for policymakers, health care institutions, clinicians, and patients across five key categories to reduce harm from multiple medication use. The issue briefs summarize each action plan category.
The John A. Hartford Foundation is one of more than 15 national and international organizations who have officially supported the National Action Plan.
