MOVING FORWARD COALITION UPDATES:

More than 100 Members Come Together to Launch Moving Forward Nursing Home Quality Coalition
September 12, 2022

The two-year initiative to improve nursing home quality has formally launched with a diverse group of nursing home residents and care partners, family members, providers, and leading experts to develop and test action plans that advance recommendations outlined in a major report released by the NASEM in April 2022.

The Coalition has named more than 100 professionals and stakeholders to serve on the coalition’s seven different committees. They will engage long-term care advocates, nursing home leaders and residents, federal and state policymakers, and others to prioritize 7 to 14 NASEM recommendations.

The Moving Forward Coalition has launched a website, movingforwardcoalition.org, which provides more information on the committees, their co-chairs and members. The website has a wealth of resources about the challenges facing America’s nursing homes and information on how to join or support the Coalition.

We’re Off to a Great Start!
August 10, 2022

The Coalition has announced its name, structure, committee co-chairs and steering committee members. Chair Alice Bonner and Associate Director Isaac Longobardi share that a nationwide search has identified the co-chairs of seven committees, each aligned with a recommendation from the NASEM nursing home quality report. The Steering Committee will help guide the Coalition’s direction, and Subject Matter Experts are currently being recruited to provide additional insights. Interested stakeholders are encouraged to contact the Chair and Associate Director.
