The Rural Health Information Hub (RHIhub) has released the April episode of its Exploring Rural Health podcast, "Rural Age-Friendly Health Systems," with JAHF's VP of Program, Rani Snyder, together with Alan Morgan and Jed Hansen.

The episode features Rani Snyder with National Rural Health Association CEO Alan Morgan and Nebraska Rural Health Association Executive Director Jed Hansen, who discuss the National Rural Age-Friendly Initiative and the importance of ensuring rural health systems maintain accessible for patients of all ages.

The group talk about how an Age-Friendly Health System entails reliably providing a set of four evidence-based elements of what is high-quality care for older adults known as the 4Ms (What Matters, Mobility, Medication and Mentation). The podcast went into the direct care worker shortage and the vital role they play in the healthcare system and how often they are overlooked.
