Select Subcommittee Held Hearing Examining the Impact of the Coronavirus in Nursing Homes
The Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis held a hybrid hearing on September 21, “Examining Long-Term Care in America: The Impact of the Coronavirus in Nursing Homes.”
Witnesses included representatives of the Moving Forward: Nursing Home Quality Coalition and the committee that developed The National Imperative to Improve Nursing Home Quality report from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. They testified to the challenges that the coronavirus pandemic has posed to nursing home residents and staff and what measures can be adopted to ensure nursing homes are better equipped to protect residents and staff in the future.
