Addressing Ageism in Healthcare

The American Society on Aging's On Aging Institute is hosting a live workshop on February 27 on "Addressing Ageism in Healthcare."

Using evidence-based research, this training for healthcare professionals will explore the harmful effects of ageism on the physical and mental health of patients.

The workshop aims to equip participants with evidence-based insights into the harmful effects of ageism, practical tools to recognize and address biases, and strategies to foster more inclusive provider-patient interactions. Speakers include:

  • Kris Geerken, MHA, Adjunct Instructor, Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Department of Health Professions
  • Janet Masters, MSN, APRN, MSCP, NP-C, Board-Certified Adult Geriatric Nurse Practitioner and Certified Menopause Practitioner

This live workshop (February 27) ASA member rate is $100 (and non-member rate is $175). 2.0 Continuing Education Credit hours are offered for registered nurses from all 50 states upon full participation in the training and completion of the post-test activity. The workshop will be available on demand from March 2 – June 27, 2025.
