Facilitated Learning to Advance Geriatrics (FLAG) Boca Raton

The Facilitated Learning to Advance Gereatrics (FLAG) Program is a nationally recognized faculty development experiential workshop designed for nurse educators in prelicensure programs. FLAG is now being offered September 19 - 20, 2014 in Boston MA, October 17-18, 2014 in Scranton-Worthington, PA, and early February, 2015 in Boca Raton, FL.

What is FLAG?

The Facilitated Learning to Advance Geriatrics (FLAG) program is a nationally recognized faculty development experiential workshop designed for nurse educators in prelicensure programs. The program is completed in-person over two days, from approximately 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. each day.

The FLAG program is being disseminated by the National Hartford Centers of Gerontological Nursing Excellence. It was developed by faculty experts at the University of Minnesota Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence and is designed to provide nurse educators with effective and engaging teaching strategies related to care of older adults.

FLAG Program Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to re-imagine the possibilities for excellent teaching about the care of older adults.
  • Create engaging teaching strategies to improve student learning related to healthy aging and to common geriatric syndromes.
  • Use resources to improve education of students related to care and health of older adults.
  • Design effective measures to evaluate student learning.

FLAG Includes:

  • Two-day FLAG Institute – will be awarded up to 18 ANCC contact hours for $595*
