GSV Program New Level of Participation: The Geriatric Surgery Verification (Age-Friendly) Level

ACS GSC AF

The American College of Surgeons (ACS) has a new level of participation for the GSV Program: The Geriatric Surgery Verification (Age Friendly) Level.

To achieve Geriatric Surgery Verification (GSV), hospitals must demonstrate that 6 GSV Program standards are in place across surgery for eligible surgical patients aged 65 years and older. This level aligns with the requirements of the Age Friendly Hospital Measure, which as of January 1, is mandatory to report for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting Program.
