Hospital at Home Users Group Webinar Recording: Hospital at Home for Cancer Care - Current Innovations, Opportunities, and Challenges
The Hospital at Home Users Group held a webinar December 14, "Hospital at Home for Cancer Care: Current Innovations, Opportunities, and Challenges."
This webinar was aimed at towards hospital and system leaders interested in learning about the opportunities and challenges associated with providing acute care in the home. In the session, representatives of five programs from across the country focused on cancer patients discussed their work and shared their results to date. Moderated by Susan Dentzer of the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy, the discussion identified:
- Elements in common with hospital at home programs that treat general medical conditions;
- Special features associated with cancer care;
- Distinct as well as common challenges faced by all cancer-focused hospital at home programs; and
- Opportunities for growth and expansion, such as into rural areas of the country.
