The Gerontological Society of America's (GSA) Innovation in Aging journal has published a paper, “Creating an Age-Friendly Public Health System.”

Co-authored by The Trust for America's Health and JAHF's President Terry Fulmer and Senior Program Officer Jane Carmody, the paper gives an overview of roles that public health could fulfill, in collaboration with aging services, to address the challenges and opportunities of an aging society. An initiative by the Florida Departments of Health and Elder Affairs of an innovative "Framework for an Age-Friendly Public Health System" (Framework) within Florida’s county health departments and at the state level is explained in detail.

The paper is part of an Innovation in Aging special issue on Aging and Public Health.
