The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) is running a new in-depth Age-Friendly Health Systems (AFHS) Online Course with Coaching for healthcare professionals that combines self-directed sessions and live virtual instruction. An informational call will be held on February 6.

The Online Course with Coaching (OCC) is a nine-week program that teaches the elements of the 4Ms framework (What Matters, Medication, Mentation and Mobility), and how to implement age-friendly care learnings in different types of care settings. Settings include hospitals, clinics nursing homes and home health agencies. Courses include preparing for the new CMS Age-Friendly Hospital Measure.

Continuing education credits are available. The OCC starts March 26 and costs $549. Scholarships are available: scholarship applications are due February 7, 2025. Scholarship decisions will be announced by February 28.
