Joining Forces: Working with Consumer Advocates to Promote Integrated Care (Webinar)

Community Catalyst, The Hartford Change AGEnts Initiative, and The John A. Hartford Foundation will be hosting a webinar on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. EDT on issues related to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries, or "dual eligibles." This interactive session will focus on how geriatrics professionals can connect with consumer groups and amplify their advocacy on behalf of low income older patients, particularly dual eligible Medicare/Medicaid beneficiaries.

This interactive session will focus on how geriatrics professionals can connect with consumer groups and amplify their advocacy on behalf of low income older patients, particularly dual eligible Medicare/Medicaid beneficiaries. Community Catalyst's Voices for Better Health project is partnering with state and local advocates in Michigan, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island and Washington, equipping them with the resources and expertise necessary to establish a voice for dual eligibles in the policy debate in their states and at the federal level. The webinar will feature Gregg Warshaw, MD, University of Cincinnati Health and Aging Policy Fellow and Former President of the American Geriatrics Society.

During the session, participants will:
• Hear about federal and state initiatives to integrate Medicare and Medicaid financing and care delivery
• Understand the role of Community Catalyst and the Voices for Better Health program in advocating and improving integrated duals plans serving low-income older adults
• Learn new ways to become involved in advocacy related to the integrated duals plans
