Senior Program Officer Amy Berman will be honored at National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship Rays of Hope event on September 27, 2012 in Washington, DC. Ms. Berman will also present on a panel of experts discussing quality of care and patient-centered decision-making for cancer survivors.
The National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS) invites you to celebrate cancer survivorship with friends, colleagues, policymakers, and thought leaders. Hosted by Susan Dentzer, Editor-in-Chief of Health Affairs, our annual Rays of Hope® event will include a lively discussion of quality cancer care and will shine the light on extraordinary individuals who have chronicled their very personal experiences with cancer. With plenty of good spirits, good food, and good conversation, the evening will draw upon their stories of self-advocacy, hope, perseverance, and self-determination to inform, inspire and enlighten our thinking about cancer survivorship.
This year we will host an evening to consider the issues confronting cancer survivors who are pursuing quality cancer care at a time when the health system is changing in fundamental ways. As provisions of the Affordable Care Act are implemented and health systems at the local, state, and federal level initiate reforms of health delivery and payment, there is tremendous opportunity to address the gaps in cancer care quality and delivery and bring quality care to all.
We will discuss different perspectives on the best path to providing all cancer survivors quality care and encouraging their active involvement in making decisions and managing their care. We are honored to be joined by:
