UCLA Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Program Webinar Series: Better Caregiving for All

UCLA ADC Webinar Series2024

The University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care (ADC) Program has launched a monthly webinar series, "Better Caregiving for All." The last webinar in 2024 was "Sandwich Caregivers of Persons Living with Dementia," on December 18. The first webinar in 2025 will be held on January 29.

The virtual series is being delivered live online and recorded for on-demand viewing. The material covered each month addresses the needs of populations that have not been the focus of traditional caregiver training/education in the past.

Each session includes a local content expert and caregivers who are sharing their knowledge and experience in that population of dementia caregiving.

The December 18 webinar, "Sandwich Caregivers of Persons Living with Dementia" featured content expert Yael Wyte, MSW, caregivers, and moderator Linda Ercoli, PhD.

The November 20 webinar, "Young Adult Caregivers of Persons Living with Dementia" featureed content expert Monica Moore, MSG, caregivers and moderator, Linda Ercoli, PhD.

The October 30 webinar, "Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Caregivers of Persons Living with Dementia," featured content expert Kristy Huang-Aral, MASM, caregivers and moderator, Linda Ercoli, PhD.

The September 25 webinar, "Friend/Neighbor Caregivers of Persons Living with Dementia," featured content expert, Tori Boyer, LCSW, caregivers and moderator, Linda Ercoli, PhD.

The August 28 webinar, "Middle Eastern and Northern African (MENA) Caregivers of Persons Living with Dementia," featured content expert, Shadi Gholizadeh, PhD, MPH, caregivers and moderator, Linda Ercoli, PhD.

The July 17 webinar, "Latino/x/e & Hispanic Caregivers of Persons Living with Dementia (in Spanish)," included content expert Paola Suarez, PhD, caregivers Ericka, Linda and Nathalie, and moderator Mirella Díaz-Santos, PhD.

The June 26 webinar, "LGBTQ+ Caregivers," included content expert David Hart, PhD, caregiver Richard and moderator Linda Ercoli, PhD.

The May 22 webinar, "Black/African-American Caregivers of Persons Living with Dementia (PLWD)," included content expert Petra Niles, MSG, caregivers Tyra and Pamela and moderator Linda Ercoli, PhD.

The April 24 webinar, "Long-Distance Caregivers of Persons Living with Dementia (PLWD)," included content expert Yael Wyte, MSW, caregivers Lauren and Dean, and moderator Linda Ercoli, PhD.

The March 20 webinar, "Male Caregivers of Persons Living with Dementia (PLWD)," included content expert Emnet Gammada, PhD, caregiver Jim, and moderator Linda Ercoli, PhD.

The February 21 webinar, "Early Onset Dementia Caregivers," included caregivers, content expert Michelle Panlilio, DNP, and moderator Linda Ercoli, PhD.
