WEBINAR: Implementing the Consensus Model by 2015: Education and Certification Requirements for APRN
The target date for full implementation of the APRN Consensus Model is 2015. To meet the 2015 date, APRN education programs must be making changes now to ensure their graduates are prepared to meet the new certification and licensure criteria. Under this new regulatory Model, all adult and gerontology acute care and primary care NP and CNS programs must prepare graduates to provide comprehensive acute or primary care to the entire adult population from the young adult through the older adult including the frail elderly. Additionally, all programs preparing APRNs to care for adults (e.g. FNPs, Psych NPs, WHNPs, Women’s Health CNSs), must demonstrate that graduates are being prepared with enhanced skills and knowledge to meet the needs of the growing older adult population.

This Webinar, hosted by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, will feature representatives from accrediting and certifying bodies to assist deans, program directors, and faculty in understanding the timelines and new requirements being implemented for NP and CNS education and certification. In addition to addressing frequently asked questions participants will have an opportunity to ask the panelists questions.
