The Milken Institute's Alliance to Improve Dementia Care has released a new report, "Guiding the Care Journey: Building Dementia Workforce and System Capacity through Care Navigation."

The US health-care system is facing significant challenges as it prepares to meet the growing demand for care among individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

The Alliance to Improve Dementia Care, convened by the Future of Aging, identified eight elements of comprehensive dementia care that can improve quality of life and lower costs, and made six recommendations. These recommendations are detailed in the report and are centered around two overarching themes to improve dementia-care navigation.

Jane Carmody, JAHF Senior Program Officer, represented JAHF on the Alliance to Improve Dementia Care's Building Workforce Capacity Post-Diagnosis Working Group and on the Improving Care Navigation in Dementia Care Roundtable.
