American Hospital Association Press Release: The John A. Hartford Foundation To Receive 2026 AHA Award of Honor

The American Hospital Association (AHA) has announced that its 2026 Award of Honor will be presented to The John A. Hartford Foundation (JAHF) for its dedication to improving care for older adults.

The AHA Award of Honor is given to individuals or organizations in recognition of exemplary contributions to the health and well-being of our nation through leadership on major health policy or social initiatives. For more than 40 years, JAHF has been dedicated to improving the care of older adults. The press release notes that, "The foundation has been a critical partner in creating age-friendly health systems, working with the AHA to bring together cross-sector work advancing communities that foster healthy aging."

“The John A. Hartford Foundation has led the charge in enhancing care for older adults to better meet their needs,” said AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack. “The AHA applauds the organization’s decades of leadership and advocacy, as their impact continues to help hospitals and health care systems provide better care to older patients.”

JAHF's Rani E. Snyder, President, Terry Fulmer, President Emerita, and John Mach, Board Chair, will receive the award on behalf of the foundation during a ceremony on April 20 at the AHA Annual Membership Meeting in Washington, D.C.
