Best Practice Caregiving Resource: Two New Dementia Care Programs Added

Best Practice Caregiving Dementia Care programs

Best Practice Caregiving (bpc.caregiver.org) has added two dementia care evidence-based programs to their resource database of proven dementia programs for family caregivers. The newly-added programs are Caregiver: Thrive, Learn and Connect (Caregiver TLC) and Tele-Savvy.

Both of these evidence-based programs are offered remotely:

  • Caregiver TLC offers group education sessions for caregivers of persons living with dementia and other chronic health conditions focused on stress management, isolation and self-care. There are six virtual group sessions available in English and Spanish.
  • Tele-Savvy is one-on-one and group education and care-related skills training for caregivers of persons living with dementia focused on understanding the course of the illness, strategies for coping with symptoms and encouraging persons living with dementia to participate in daily activities. There are six virtual sessions available in English, Spanish and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).

Best Practice Caregiving is introducing an expanded version of its resource, "Best Practice Caregiving for Family and Friend Caregivers," that will be offered directly to family and friend caregivers. The resource spotlights top-rated, proven support programs that are available across the country. Best Practice Caregiving will provide details and help with enrolling. This expanded version will be launched in early 2024.
