National Collaboratory to Address Elder Mistreatment Mentorship Program
The National Collaboratory to Address Elder Mistreatment (NCAEM), led by the Education Development Center (EDC), has announced a request for applications for its new Mentorship Program.
The one-year program is intended to identify and support clinicians, service providers, researchers, policymakers and advocates from multiple disciplines who wish to focus on improving care for older adults experiencing or at risk of experiencing elder mistreatment and abuse. The program recognizes that improving elder mistreatment identification, intervention and prevention requires supporting people with a broad range of interests and careers, and NCAEM plans to select a varied cohort to participate in this mentorship program. Applicants representing or working with underserved populations are encouraged to apply.
Mentees will be paired with an expert mentor with shared interests and experiences to work together to design and complete a project of their choosing, where they will present it at a special two-day convening in Bethesda, MD, June 2023 (travel and hotel expenses will be paid by the program).
The deadline for application submission is June 3, 2022.
