Enhancing Gerontology Content in Baccalaureate Nursing Education Programs
Grant Summary
Most nursing faculty do not yet have the knowledge or skill to effectively "gerontologize" their courses. To address that need, the Foundation has made a grant to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing to support the development of a national initiative to prepare up to 700 tenure-track baccalaureate faculty to lead the transformation of their schools’ curricula and also to teach and mentor colleagues and students in geriatric nursing. Six multi-day regional trainings will prepare faculty to advocate for geriatric content, train other faculty members, and oversee curriculum revisions at their home institutions.Grant Details
