Grant Summary

The Foundation awarded a four-year renewal grant to the Association of Specialty Professors (ASP), the Association of Professors of Medicine, and the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine to continue to increase competence in the care of older adults among physicians in the specialties of internal medicine. The grant provides support for three additional research agenda-setting meetings sponsored by ASP; support for leadership training, networking, and mentorship opportunities for both active and alumni T. Franklin Williams Scholars; and continuing encouragement of the specialty societies to address aging issues. The initial grant was made in 2006 for the project entitled: "Integrating Geriatrics into the Specialties of Internal Medicine: Moving Forward from Awareness to Action."
