Restoration and Augmentation of Funds to the Nursing Initiative Coordinating Center and Scholar Stip

Grant Summary

An award in 2000 to the American Academy of Nursing (AAN) provided resources for the coordination of the Foundation's geriatric nursing capacitybuilding initiative as well as pre- and post-doctoral scholarship support. Completing its third year, the center facilitates linkages among the five centers of geriatric nursing excellence and provides review, selection, and monitoring services for the Foundation's nursing scholars program. The AAN further sponsors an annual leadership development meeting for active awardees and alumni of the program.This augmentation supports five additional scholars for the 2004 cohort and three in 2005. There will also be increased funding to cover administrative expenses, including enhanced communications.
