BOLD PHCOE-DC Webinar Recording: Partnering with GWEPs in Dementia Caregiving and Education - Opportunities for Public Health

BPCOE DC Partnering with GWEPS in Dementia Caregiving and Education Opportunities for Public Health

The BOLD Public Health Center of Excellence on Dementia Caregiving (PHCOE-DC) held a webinar December 7 on, "Partnering with GWEPs in Dementia Caregiving and Education: Opportunities for Public Health."

The goal of Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Programs (GWEP) is to educate and train the primary care and geriatric workforce to care for older adults. GWEPs are key partners in public health dementia-related efforts and can build a diverse and skilled workforce that supports both, the person with dementia and their caregivers.

The webinar explored opportunities for public health departments to collaborate with GWEPs in their dementia caregiving initiatives. The session presented examples of state-based partnerships in Georgia and Rhode Island.
