Call for Nominations: Ashley Brooks-Danso Memorial Fund Student Travel Scholarships
The CSWE Gero-Ed Center is now accepting applications for the Ashley Brooks-Danso Memorial Fund Student Travel Scholarships! This scholarship allows BSW and MSW students interested in aging to receive a complimentary registration to the 2014 CSWE Annual Program Meeting in Tampa, Florida from October 24-26, 2014 as well as $500 for travel expenses. The CSWE Gero-Ed Center is now accepting nominations for the Ashley Brooks-Danso Memorial Fund Student Travel Scholarships! This scholarship allows BSW and MSW students interested in aging to receive a complimentary registration to the 2014 CSWE Annual Program Meeting in Tampa, Florida from October 24-26, 2014 as well as $500 for travel expenses. The scholarships honor the life and legacy of Ashley Brooks-Danso, former co-Director of the CSWE Gero-Ed Center from 2004-2008, who passed away in June 2011 from a pulmonary embolism.
Nominees must:
• Be currently enrolled full- or part-time students in a CSWE-accredited program
• Demonstrate an interest in aging through a field placement, service learning, coursework, or similar activity
• Be nominated by a social work faculty member from their current program
The deadline for nominations is July 1, 2014. Two students will be selected, and awards will be announced in August, 2014.
