CAPC 2024 Serious Illness Scorecard & Briefing Recording: America’s Readiness to Meet the Needs of People with Serious Illness

CAPC Briefing 2

The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) held a virtual briefing on December 10, "Serious Illness Scorecard & Briefing: America’s Readiness to Meet the Needs of People with Serious Illness."

The 2024 Serious Illness Scorecard rates each state's capacity to deliver high-quality care to people living with a serious illness and reports in-depth on the state’s palliative care landscape.

Briefing speakers reviewed each state’s readiness and capacity to meet the needs of people living with a serious illness, and their families and caregivers. They highlighted national trends and provide practical, actionable recommendations for state policymakers, palliative care champions, and advocates to improve care within their own state or organization. Speakers included:

  • Brynn Bowman, MPA, Chief Executive Officer, Center to Advance Palliative Care
  • Allison Silvers, MBA, Chief Health Care Transformation Officer
  • Rachael Heitner, MPH, Associate Director, Research and Insights
  • Stacie Sinclair, MPP, Associate Director, Policy and Care Transformation
