CAPC Webinar: The Current State and Future Vision of the Serious Illness Care Workforce

CAPC Webinar The Current State and Future Vision of the Serious Illness Care Workforce

The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) will host a webinar on December 7 on "The Current State and Future Vision of the Serious Illness Care Workforce."

CAPC and its partner organizations have long focused on growing and supporting the palliative care workforce. In this webinar, CAPC CEO, Brynn Bowman, MPA, will introduce a framework for evaluating the needs of the workforce caring for patients with serious illness, building on her keynote speech from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s 2023 Roundtable on Quality Care for People with Serious Illness.

This framework can be used to understand whether we have enough palliative care clinicians, what is needed to sustain them, and whether the larger U.S health care workforce is trained and supported to provide the highest-quality care. She will also provide insights on workforce priorities in the coming years and identify priority actions to ensure that more clinicians train to care for our patient population.
